what is NannyShare and how does it work?

NannyShare is a site that helps parents meet other families that might be interested in sharing childcare. Post a short ad with your basic information and comments, and start searching for other families in your neighborhood that meet your criteria. Once you have identified potential candidates, contact them through NannyShare to learn more about them and determine whether they are a good match.

Please note that NannyShare is strictly a place for interested families to post and find each other. We do not screen our users - that is solely the responsibility of the families involved.

registration

We figured that pretty much everyone has a Facebook account, and it would be great not to have to create (and remember) yet another password. Signing up (or signing in) via Facebook takes seconds. We do not post to Facebook or share your Facebook information with others - it's strictly for your convenience.
We understand that you may not be comfortable signing up using Facebook, and that's why we also added a regular email+password sign up.

saved search and notifications

You can save your search and have NannyShare send you an email about new members matching your search criteria. Take a look at your "settings" page for more information.
You can unsubscribe any time through your "settings" or by clicking "unsubscribe" at the bottom of any of your email notifications.

what should I put in my ad and what should I look for?

Nanny sharing works best with children of approximately the same age. As you are searching for families, make sure that you are clear about the days/hours needed, any special preferences for the kind of childcare provider (background, education, etc), and any other special considerations or requirements that you may have.

Once you find a family on NannyShare, contact them to set up a time to chat or meet face to face. Find out whether your schedules and nanny requirements are compatible, and go from there.
